FSU Volunteer Community

The project

 

In an effort to empower wider Jewish communities in the Former Soviet Union, the American Joint Distribution Committee has been supporting community volunteer activities. The goal of the Program is to “promote and develop community life and resources through solidarity, responsibility and resilience”. The Program is implemented through 44 volunteer centers in 6 countries. Volunteer centers in the FSU, which operate on various levels, conduct a variety of activities (e.g. volunteer work inside and outside the Jewish community, ongoing- and one-time volunteering, volunteer work based on professional skills, etc.) and cover a wealth of subjects and target audiences.

Tasks: Evaluating the first three years - pilot phase - of the program

  • designing data collection tools

  • collecting qualitative and quantitative data from volunteers, beneficiaries and coordinators in Moldova, Russia and Ukraine

  • aggregating and analyzing data

  • supporting the internal monitoring system

  • report writing
