Media Impacting Conflict Transformation
The project
Funded by the European Union and implemented by two local NGOs – the Adam Institute for Democracy and Peace and Israel Social TV – Media Impacting Conflict Transformation is a three-year project that promotes peace journalism as a central catalyst contributing to a non-violent and human-rights based approach to an agreed settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The action’s specific objectives are to:
-
Mobilize a broad spectrum of Israeli media to positively transform public opinion regarding conflict transformation between Israelis and Palestinians.
-
Train a large cadre of local media persons as peace journalists and opinion formers committed to conflict transformation.
-
Provide these media persons with an in-depth knowledge of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and effective conflict resolution strategies.
-
Imbue this cadre of trainee peace journalists with attitudes of understanding and empathy for both sides of the conflict – Israeli and Palestinian.
