Religious Dialogue Project Review
The project
The Church of Norway’s Council on Ecumenical and International Relations (MKR) has since the signing of the Oslo Accords in September 1993 facilitated dialogue between religious leaders in Palestine, Israel, and to some extent Jordan. The Council of Religious Institutions of the Holy Land (CRIHL) was formed in 2005 and is the MKR’s cooperation partner in the project. The establishment of the CRIHL is itself a result of the inter-religious dialogues with the aim of enhancing cross-religious cooperation. Members of the CRIHL include representatives of key religious institutions in the region; i.e. the Chief Rabbinate of Israel, the Sharia Courts of the Palestinian Authority, and leaders of the local churches. The review considers the past ten years of operation of CRIHL, its relevance, effectiveness, efficiency and impact on the ground.
The review is performed together with Scanteam.
