Support and Advocacy for Torture Victim Asylum-Seekers
The project
The Support and Advocacy for Torture Victims Asylum Seekers tackles the needs of victims tortured in their home countries, or in the Sinai camps en route to Israel. The two-year project is funded by the Austrian Porticus Foundation and implemented by the Aid Organization for Refugees and Asylum Seekers in Israel (ASSAF). The goal of the project is to strengthen the resilience of victims of torture and human trafficking, by addressing their psycho-social, physical and legal needs. Moreover, the project promotes favorable policies, especially the establishment of a clear, accessible and effective identification system, and access to rehabilitation services for African asylum-seeker victims of torture in Israel.
